VegLab Biblio est une bibliothèque de ressources documentaires dédiée à la phytosociologie.

Ce projet à vocation à rendre disponible la documentation phytosociologique ainsi qu’à organiser et faciliter l’intégration des données dans VegLab.

This project aims to make phytosociological documentation available as well as to organize and facilitate the integration of data into VegLab.

Fonctionnement#

Le processus de mise à disposition des ressources suit quatre étapes clés :

  1. Numérisation et OCR : Les documents originaux sont numérisés puis convertis en texte brut par reconnaissance optique de caractères (OCR). Ce texte constitue la base de travail exploitable.
  2. Fidélité des contenus : Les textes présentés sur le site sont une transcription fidèle des originaux et n’ont subi aucune modification de fond.
  3. Extraction des tableaux (Page “Tables”) : Les tableaux de relevés phytosociologiques sont extraits à l’aide de l’intelligence artificielle. Ils font l’objet d’un “toilettage” technique mais ne subissent aucune modification de leur contenu scientifique original.
  4. Préparation pour l’intégration (Page “CSV tables”) : Pour faciliter leur intégration dans VegLab, les tableaux sont convertis au format CSV. Cette étape nécessite ensuite un travail complémentaire de correspondance taxonomique et géographique. L’état d’avancement de ce travail est indiqué pour chaque document.

The process of making resources available follows four key steps:

  1. Digitization and OCR: Original documents are scanned and then converted to plain text by optical character recognition (OCR). This text constitutes the usable working base.
  2. Content fidelity: The texts presented on the site are a faithful transcription of the originals and have not undergone any substantive modification.
  3. Table extraction (“Tables” page): Phytosociological survey tables are extracted using artificial intelligence. They undergo technical “cleaning” but do not suffer any modification of their original scientific content.
  4. Preparation for integration (“CSV tables” page): To facilitate their integration into VegLab, the tables are converted to CSV format. This step then requires additional work on taxonomic and geographic matching. The progress status of this work is indicated for each document.
